Heckscher Drive Community Club

Membership

The Heckscher Drive Community Club, Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida.  The purpose of this club is the literary, social, scientific and philanthropic and generally to create, nurture and develop community spirit among its members and community including new and residing neighbors; to seek improvement in the community and to establish, promote and maintain a social and charitable club for the friendship and benefit of all its members and the community.

HDCC Members enjoy community updates, participation in community related meetings related to matters that directly affect the Heckscher Drive community and Jacksonville District 2.  HDCC monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month and include a social half-hour where snacks, light refreshments, and sometimes cookouts are served.  The meetings include regular agenda items related to the community as well as guest speakers in a range of community related matters to interest items about living in the northeastern Florida region, updates from community leaders, and matters that may affect the near and long term development of the Heckscher Drive Community.  Members have a voting role for Club and community issues that are brought forward to the City of Jacksonville City Council and other boards and committees when warranted.  The goal is also for the Heckscher Club to host community social events to include cook-outs and other special occasions recognizing holidays and other interesting events in history.

Membership comes with an annual fee of $70.00.  Prospective members shall attend at least two monthly meeting before being considered by membership vote at a regular meeting for full membership.  Members also serve as Club officers and may be nominated to special committees.  Members additionally enjoy a discounted fee for Clubhouse rentals.

Regular membership is open to any person age 18 or older who owns property, resides or operates a business on Heckscher Drive or anyone having an interest in the area.   Junior membership shall be granted to minor children of members in good standing. They shall be entitled to all privileges of membership except that they may not vote or hold an elected office.   Business membership is open to any State-registered business that is within the Heckscher Drive Community and its immediate confines, providing goods or services to this community.
